Professional Standardization
TOPREC determines what standards of knowledge and skill are to be attained by persons seeking to become members of the profession of town planning and reviews those standards from time to time as circumstance may require.
Institutions Accreditation
The Council ensures the objectives and quality of planning education are maintained through regular visitation to training institutions.

Demand Notice to all Members
In accordance with the provisions of TOPREC Decree No. 3 of 1988 (CAP 431, LFN 1990), the Council shall, within 3 months, publish the names of fully registered Town Planners and Town Planninig Consulting Firms with current licence to offer professional services of urban and regional planning in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Members and Corporate bodies are therefore advised to fully fulfil their professional and finacial obligation as those failing may have their names deleted from the Register.
